Career College Transition Fair set for April 26

Jackson County Industrial Development Corp. has been given the green light to hold an in-person career fair this year for high school students.

The name is changing from iPOD Day to Career College Transition Fair. JCIDC is partnering with the Transition Fair to host one large event.

Due to the increased interest and participation from JCIDC’s community partners, the event will be in the Lloyd E. Scott Gymnasium at Seymour High School.

It’s set for 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 26. Everyone will need to enter and leave through the main gym door off of Community Drive.

Students from all five high schools in Jackson County will be invited to attend. In the past, more than 1,000 students were in attendance throughout the day.

JCIDC is working with Jobs for America’s Graduates students to help with marketing/advertising, logistics, registration and more. JAG also is developing an icebreaker activity for students to complete to be entered into for prizes.

Anyone interested in participating in the event should RSVP through JCIDC intern Jayden Gossar by emailing [email protected].

For other information about the event, email Jackie Hill, workforce partnership director for JCIDC, at [email protected].
