The Immanuel Lutheran Guild meeting March 1 was called to order by President Linda Eggersman with 23 members present.

Vicar Nick Wagenknecht led the group in singing a hymn, and his topic for the evening was a question-and-answer session about his year serving as the church’s vicar.

Members with birthdays in January through March were recognized.

It was decided to donate mite box funds to Orphan Grain Train.

Treasurer Janet Cooper presented a donation sheet for the year. The guild members raised funds by selling assorted bags of nuts and holding a cookie walk. Most of the proceeds were donated to several different local charities and some were given globally.

Reports were given regarding visitation to residents in local nursing homes for January and February. Cards also were sent to some shut-ins and those celebrating birthdays.

The hostesses for the March meeting were Tammy Swindell, Joan Nichols, Pam Rodriguez and Jan Wilde.

Sharon Toppe closed the meeting by giving an explanation about Fat Tuesday and completed with a prayer.

The next meeting will be April 5 with Lisa Lewis, Jan Blomenberg, Betty Chastain and Norma Pollert serving as hostesses.
