James “Jim” Reedy, 73, of Seymour, IN passed away on February 28, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family. Jim was born on November 2, 1948, in Seymour, IN to Harold and Neva (Berry) Reedy. Jim married the love of his life, Kathy Ackeret, on April 6, 2013. He worked at Rose Acres for 32 years and did many jobs during his time there. Jim loved fishing and watching Westerns. He loved cowboy boots and traveling to Gatlinburg, TN. Most importantly, Jim loved his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Jim will be dearly missed by his wife, Kathy; his children, Angie Sizemore, Harold Reedy, and Bruce Reedy; his step-children, Jason Lange, Tennille (Ryan) Chandler, Sheena Burton, and Leonard (Sierra) Burton; his grandchildren, Ashley Hatchett, Lucas Delph, Siara Sizemore, Chase Sizemore, Duncan Reedy, Addi Chandler, Myles Chandler, Lillian Lange, Locklyn Lange, Nicholas Burton, and Silas Burton; his 5 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Sue Blocker and Trish Plummer; his chosen grandchildren that he was “Papaw” to, Marlee, Vinny, Alex, Claudia, and Luke; his fur baby, Buddy; and his numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Gary and Mick Reedy; and his grandson, JT Reedy.

The visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Voss &St. Pierre Funeral Home, 316 N. Chestnut, Seymour, IN 47274. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, at the funeral home. There will be a visitation from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Friday before the service. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Jim’s name may be gifted to Schneck Hospice or the donor’s choice.
