The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association announced Tuesday that 15 seniors and 15 underclass girls basketball players have earned IBCA/Franciscan Health “Supreme 15” All-State honors for the 2021-22 season.

Trinity’s Bailey Tabeling was selected as one of the “Supreme 15” for the Small School All-State team. Tabeling averaged 19.8 points per game this season to lead her team, and that wasn’t all.

Tabeling led the team in rebounds (7.8), assists (4.7), steals (3.0) and blocks (1.4). She helped lead Trinity to a third-straight sectional championship.

The junior now has 1,583 career points, which is fifth all-time for Jackson County girls. She is just ten points shy of her sister’s total at 1,593 and 16 points away from breaking the school record at Trinity, which belongs to Sydney Jaynes at 1,598.

Joining Tabeling on the “Supreme 15” Underclass Small School All-State are Winchester’s Caitlyn Campbell, Kouts’ Ally Capouch, Blue River Valley’s Maci Chamberlin, University’s Kelsey DuBois, Bethesda Christian’s Kenzie Fulks, Fairfield’s Brea Garber, Alli Harness of Carroll (Flora), Tri’s Bailey Parham, Tipton’s Ashlee Schram, University’s Payton Seay, Frankton’s Emma Sperry, Forest Park’s Amber Tretter, Madison Wagner of Carroll (Flora) and Lanesville’s Linzie Wernert.

Tabeling wasn’t the only player from Jackson County to receive recognition from the IBCA either.

Seymour’s Kendall Sterling was deemed an honorable mention for the Underclass All-State team.

Sterling also filled the stat sheet for the Owls as she led them in points, rebounds and assists. She scored 249 points, had 113 rebounds and handed out 73 assists. Head coach Jason Longmeier said that might be the first time he’s had a player lead his team in all three of those categories.

She averaged 11.6 points per game and scored 21 points against Greensburg and 19 against Greenwood and Rushville.

The sophomore was also named to the Hoosier Hills all-conference first team. She averaged 9.75 points in conference games with a high of 17 against Floyd Central.

She was one of the leaders on a Seymour team that obtained its first sectional win in 10 years this past season with a win over New Albany.

Both Sterling and Tabeling will be major contributors once again next season for their respective teams.
