Sherrell Wendell Street, 80, of Crothersville, IN, passed away at 10:06 PM on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN. Sherrell was born on Tuesday, May 20, 1941, in Boaz, AL to the parents of Kenneth Edward Street and Lear Bell (Rigsby) Street. Sherrell graduated from Crothersville High School and Ivy Tech with a degree in HVAC. Sherrell retired from Cummins Engine Company and later retired from Ivy Tech in Sellersburg, IN as an Instructor for HVAC systems. On September 15, 1959, in Uniontown, IN, Sherrell married Judy Ann Hignite. Judy passed away on June 20, 2018. Sherrell was a member of the Church of Christ in Scottsburg, IN, and a 50-year member of the Washington Masonic Lodge #13 in Brownstown, IN. He enjoyed his bird, Paco, canning the vegetables he grew in his garden, cooking, working on his tractor, and woodworking. Music was a passion in Sherrell’s life. He was part of a band that he played in for many years. He owned an audio company where he specialized in wedding and event videos. Sherrell was a talented musician. He made many of his own instruments that he loved to play by ear, they included- the guitar, banjo, fiddle, dulcimer, and harmonica. Sherrell loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. One of his favorite things to do with the grandchildren was to tell them stories and he was quite the gifted storyteller. Sherrell is survived by his 2 daughters, Pamela Street and Karen Hernandez, both of Crothersville, IN, 5 grandchildren, Brandon Street, Heather Barlow, Bradley Stuckwisch, Kimberly Stuckwisch, and Darrin Stuckwisch, 5 great-grandchildren, Trenton Stuckwisch, Oliva Barlow, Allie Barlow, Briar Stuckwisch, and Liam Callahan, 1 brother, Farrell James (Margaret) Street of Crothersville, IN, 1 sister, Judy Ann (Kenneth) Wright of Alabama, several nieces and nephews. Sherrell was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lear Bell Street, his beautiful wife of 58 years, Judy Street, 1 sister, Barbara Jean Combs, 1 brother, Edward Keith Street, and an infant sister. Pastor Matt McGlothlin will conduct funeral services at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the Church of Christ, 580 North Hyland St., Scottsburg, IN with visitation starting at Noon until 2:00, all at the church with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery.
