From a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer to doctors, educators, business folks, military veterans, attorneys, farmers and innovators, Seymour High School’s alumni consist of truly remarkable people, and the search is on for the next class of Wall of Fame inductees.

Who do you think belongs on the Wall of Fame?

The school is accepting nominations of alumni for induction into its Wall of Fame Class of 2022. Started by the school’s Renaissance program in 1996, the Wall of Fame is a way for the school and community to come together to promote and recognize achievements of past graduates and to celebrate the mark these alumni have made on the world.

To be considered a candidate for Wall of Fame honors, nominees must have graduated at least 10 years ago, have been recognized by their peers as highly successful in their chosen field of endeavor and have received district, state, national or international commendations or awards for their contributions. Nominees may be living or deceased.

The Wall of Fame not only recognizes the accomplishments of former Seymour High School students but also serves to highlight these honorees as role models for current students. Past inductees’ photos and information are displayed on a large plaque located in the auditorium lobby.

The Wall of Fame program was established by former high school librarian Betty Skelton and former assistant principal Rosemary Jenkinson, both of whom are now deceased, and retired principal Jim McCormick.

A committee of teachers and community members evaluates the nominations and chooses the honorees. Past nominees who were not selected are encouraged to resubmit nominations.

Nomination forms are available at the Seymour High School main office or may be accessed from the school’s website at scsc.k12.in.us. Forms should be mailed to Wall of Fame Committee, Steve Bush, 1350 W. Second St., Seymour IN 47274. Nominations also are accepted via a Google Form found at tinyurl.com/seymourwall.

Nominations must be submitted by March 30.
