Gary W. Selfridge, 71, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. The son of the late Paul and Ruby Oathout Selfridge, Gary was born May 15, 1950 in Seymour, Indiana.

He graduated in 1972 from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s degree and moved to New Albany as an agent for Farm Bureau. He later founded Selfridge &Associates Insurance and Financial Services and served as President for many years.

Gary was President of the Salvation Army Advisory Board and was instrumental in making the Salvation Army’s Center of Hope a reality by working many years on the capital campaign and overseeing construction.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Anderson Selfridge; children, Andy Selfridge (Lisa), Matt Selfridge (Ashley), and Kristen Baird (Chris); sister, Karen Allman (Tom); and grandchildren, Calleigh, Ryan, Ben, and Laney Baird and Logan, Elizabeth, Evan, Caroline, Luke, and Annelise Selfridge.

Visitation will be from 3 pm ~ 8 pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 10 am Thursday, January 20, 2022, in the Kraft Spring Street Chapel with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany.
