Seymour BZA welcomes new member

Jack Swindell is the newest member of the Seymour Board of Zoning Appeals.

He was introduced during the Nov. 23 meeting. He thanked the board and mayor’s office for asking him to join the BZA.

Swindell replaces John Richey, who died Oct. 4 and had been serving as the board’s president.

Rob Kaufman has since been serving as acting president. The other members are Dave Eggers, Jim Myers and Jason Kleber.

During the recent meeting, the board also agreed to move this month’s meeting to Dec. 14 due to vacation conflicts and holidays. It will be at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at Seymour City Hall, 301 N. Chestnut St. The board normally meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Also, with Myers retiring from the BZA at the end of the year, a nominating committee was formed to find his replacement. Kleber and Swindell will serve on that committee.
