An 18-year-old Commiskey man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in North Vernon.

Hunter Spicer faces a preliminary Level 5 felony charge of criminal recklessness with a firearm, according to a news release from the North Vernon Police Department. No one was injured in what police said was an isolated incident.

Police were able to identify Spicer after multiple interviews by investigators looking into a report that someone had fired one to three shots in the driveway of a residence in the area of Noon Drive and Brownstown Road, Sgt. Andrew Richmond said.

Officers responding to that report at 6:56 p.m. Nov. 21 learned that after the shots had been fired, two vehicles left the area, Richmond said. The vehicles were located, and the occupants of both were detained. Police also recovered shell casings from the driveway of the home.

After interviewing people in the two vehicles, police were able to identity a possible suspect, Richmond said.

On Nov. 23, police arrested Spicer and interviewed him before placing him under arrest. He was booked into the Jennings County Jail in North Vernon at 12:53 p.m. Nov. 23.
