Mr. Robert (Bob) Louis Morgan, 86, of Springfield, MA passed away Monday, October 25th, 2021.

He was born in Seymour, IN on September 7th, 1935, to the late Doris (Pollert) and Louis Morgan. He attended school at Immanuel Lutheran School in Seymour and was confirmed into the Lutheran Church in 1949. He was a long-time resident of Seymour, IN before moving to Springfield, MA.

Funeral services with military honors were held in Springfield, MA on November 10th. He was laid to rest at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA.

On 25 June 1994, Bob married Olga Beatriz Quintero; of Springfield, MA, who was born in Bocas del Toro, Republic of Panama.

Bob joined the Indiana National Guard in 1952 at the age of 17 and retired in 1984 after 32 years of service. He retired at the rank of E-7, Sergeant First Class, and was a member of the 1438 Transportation Company at Camp Atterbury Indiana.

Bob’s second career was with the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority where he drove a bus for the city of Springfield for 20 years. He was also a member of the American Legion for over 50 years and past president of the American Legion Post 89 in Seymour, IN. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Bob, also known as Grandpa B by many of his grandchildren, loved his country and was a proud veteran. He took great pride in his work and the company he worked for and was the epitome of the hard-working family man of his great generation. He was quick to tell you a joke to try and make you laugh, and he loved to tell stories, sometimes (most of the time) more than once, about his many adventures and experiences in life. Bob was blessed in his life to have 3 families which gave him 10 children, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was known by many as the “family baker” and could often be found with a bowl on his lap, peeling apples, for his next apple pie. Bob loved to go fishing, loved all sports, was a devout fan of the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots and always remained loyal to his Indiana Hoosiers. He had a great love of music and loved to dance.

Bob is survived by his wife, Olga B. Morgan.

His children – Lucille M. Quick, Robert M. Morgan, Steven D. Morgan; Pamela J. Carleton married to John Carleton; Brian E. Morgan; Thais Pacheco, Jimma Aikman married to Rick Aikman, and Giovanni Rodriguez, married to Paola Rodriguez.

25 Grandchildren, 28 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren

His Sisters, Evelyn “Dee Dee” Krebs married to the late Eddie Krebs and Carlana Able married to Glen Able

His brother Malcolm “Brad” Pollert married to Linda Pollert

And numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Catherine Jean Morgan, his children, Charles W. Wilson Jr. and Sandra A. Bullard and daughter-in-law, Cindy Morgan as well as his grandson Jesse Douglas Tolbert.
