A Veterans Day program has been scheduled for 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Jackson County Courthouse, 111 S. Main St., Brownstown.

The service, sponsored by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925 of Seymour, will start with the raising of the flag by U.S. Marine Corps veteran Glen Killey of Brownstown. Marine Corps veteran Marvin Harsh of Freetown will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the Rev. Doug Pogue with Brownstown Christian Church giving the invocation. John Spurgeon will then sing some patriotic songs.

Pogue will give the commemorative address, and the ceremony will end with a gun salute fired by an honor guard. Dick Parman, a resident of Brownstown, will close the program with “Taps.”
