Jackson County Public Library book discussion groups in Seymour and Crothersville plan to gather in person or virtually to discuss book themes, writing styles, characters and more in November.

Books are available to check out at the library checkout desks or may be available digitally through OverDrive/Libby or hoopla.

The Tuesday Night Book Club will discuss its monthly book at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 over Zoom if the county is at an orange or red COVID-19 status. If Jackson County remains at yellow or lower, the group will meet at Buffet China, 1244 E. Tipton St., Seymour. Information Services Manager Janet Hensen will lead the review of “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak. Everyone attending should bring money if they plan to eat. Sign up for the program when getting the book at the checkout desk.

The book discussion group at the Crothersville Library, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month, will meet over Zoom and share thoughts on “The Bell Jar” by Sylvia Plath at 6 p.m. Nov. 17. Crothersville Coordinator Cindy Huckleberry will lead the discussion. The group is open to adults, and there is no attendance requirement.

Fantastic Fiction will meet in the Seymour Library meeting room and discuss “Beneath a Scarlet Sky” by Mark T. Sullivan at 11 a.m. Nov. 19. Led by circulation department staff, this group meets on the third Friday of each month.

Individuals interested in book discussion groups may call 812-523-4636.
