Brownstown United Methodist Church has earned the Heritage Church Award from the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church.

A celebration to recognize the honor will be during the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday at the church, 110 N. Poplar St., Brownstown.

Current and past members and pastors of the church are invited. The public is welcome, too.

Organizers are seeking photos of weddings that took place in the church or parsonage to display. Anyone who wants to donate a vase of fall flowers in honor or memory of someone may do so, too. They must be delivered to the church by noon Saturday. Those will be used to decorate the church during the service.

Following the service, there will be a pitch-in meal in the fellowship hall. Meat will be provided, and attendees may bring a dish to share.
