Ethel E. Conrad, age 87, of Brownstown, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Conrad was a member of Community Church of Brownstown.

Ethel was full of life and always had a smile on her face. Her family was her pride and joy and she adored them dearly. Ethel enjoyed cooking, especially for Sunday family dinners, sewing, and crafts. She and her husband, Charlie, also enjoyed traveling with the motorcycle club.

Born on May 12, 1934, in Frankewing, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Leslie H. and Mary Adams Burnett, both of whom preceded her in death. On September 23, 1955, she married Charles Edward Conrad, Sr. and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2016.

Survivors include two sons: Chuck Conrad of Vallonia, and Donald (Dotti) Conrad of Brownstown; four granddaughters: Leslie (William) Holder, Rachel (DJ) Rouse, Jade Conrad, and Caitlin (Luke) Nolting; and five great-grandchildren: Liam Holder, Charlotte Holder, Henry Rouse, Connor Rouse, and Beckett Nolting; brother-in-law, Irvin Stockdale; and sister-in-law, Gayle Burnett. Also surviving are Stan, Pam, Katie, Adam, and Faith Hillenbrand, who Ethel and Charles have always considered their grandchildren.

Ethel was also preceded in death by two sons: Michael Conrad and Matthew Conrad; one sister, Anita Stockdale; and one brother, Howard Burnett.

Funeral services for Ethel E. Conrad will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Mitchell McIntyre officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.

Memorials may be given to Donor’s Choice.
