Maynard Garland Wilson, 82, a lifelong resident of Crothersville, IN, passed away at 3:00 AM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at his home. Garland was born on Sunday, October 30, 1938, in Union County, IN. He is the son of Maynard Clay Wilson and Ora Belle (Roberts) Wilson who are both deceased. Garland attended Crothersville High School. On November 21, 1959, Garland married Barbara Ellen (Halcomb) Wilson. Barbara passed away on August 28, 2006. Garland worked for 35 years at Thompson Dairy as a machine operator until the company closed and he retired in 1991. He also worked at McDonald’s in Seymour for 10 years in maintenance. Garland enjoyed playing softball in his spare time and began his favorite hobby in 1955. He has also been a member of the American Bowling Congress since 1955. He enjoyed yard work especially working in “the ditch”. Garland loved the Cincinnati Reds and was an avid Crothersville Tigers fan. He was proud to witness both sectional championships. Survivors include his 4 children, Shane (Nancy) Wilson of Celestine, IN, Chad Wilson of Crothersville, IN, Shannon (Brian) Keith of Austin, IN, and Kistian (Jeff) Reynolds of Crothersville, IN, 7 grandchildren, Telissa Murphy, Jasmine Dorsey, Logan (Terra) Keith, Erica Keith, Stephanie Zaphy, Logan (Alicia) Clark, and Madison Reynolds, 2 great-grandchildren, Dylan Atwood and Maverick Clark. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Lloyd, Bill, and Bobby Wilson. Pastors Randy King and David Schill will conduct funeral services on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Crothersville with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville.
