Schneck offers caregiver support group

Providing care for someone who is elderly or with Alzheimer’s disease can be incredibly stressful.

It’s easy to focus so much on your loved one’s health that you overlook your own well-being.

Schneck Medical Center’s Caregiver Support Group supports caregivers’ mental and physical health because caregivers need care, too.

The group meets quarterly for family members and friends of elderly, ill or loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease. The group is open to anyone caring for a loved one at home or in a nursing facility.

The group’s next gathering will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 26 in the Schneck Professional Building, Level 5.

Attendees are welcome to bring their loved one. Courtesy of a grant provided by Thrive Alliance, trained Help at Home adult caregivers are provided at Schneck during the program.
