Rock’n Ready free school supplies registration closes soon

Registration for Jackson County United Way’s Rock’n Ready free school supplies program will close Friday.

To register for free basic school supplies, students must be enrolled in K-12 this fall at a Jackson County school. Those who do not register will not be guaranteed supplies.

Every student receives a backpack and supplies, which vary by grade but typically include pencils, notebooks, crayons, colored pencils, dry erase markers and various other items. A full list can be found online at

To register, parents can go online at (English) or (Spanish). They also can call JCUW Engagement Director Emily Engelking at 812-522-5450, ext. 5.

Anyone wishing to donate supplies may drop them off at The Tribune in Seymour, The Peoples Bank offices in Brownstown, Crothersville and Seymour, Shoe Sensation in Seymour and Brownstown Public Library.

Information about distribution will be sent out in July.
