Timothy Lynn Miles, 68, of North Vernon, passed away at 2:45 p.m. at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born January 21, 1953, in Seymour, he was the son of the late Virgil and Sylvia (Wilson) Miles. He married Denice “Dee” Lucas on May 30, 1989, in Vernon; she survives.

Timothy was a 1971 graduate of Jennings County High School. He was a self-employed concrete finisher and also worked for Repp & Mundt Construction in Columbus from 1994 until 2013. He was a member of Hayden Baptist Church, Hayden Hub Coffee Group and a former member of Operative Plasterers & Cement Masons International Association. Timothy enjoyed playing the drums and guitar, visiting flea markets and music stores, finishing concrete, car shows, fishing, and especially, spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving with his wife, Dee, are his son, Chris (Sarah) Miles of Seymour; daughter, Erin (Kevin) Applegate of North Vernon; grandchildren, Chase Miles, Maddie Miles, and Trevor Layne, all of Seymour, Mackenzie Robinson, Sophia Applegate, Sydney Applegate, and Preston Applegate, all of North Vernon, Cole (Abby) Applegate of Fort Wayne, and Morgan (Kyle) Hawkins of Hendersonville, Tennessee; and great-grandchild, Amelia Applegate of Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Sally Weber Miles.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2021, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Mark Sorrels officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Timothy to the Hayden Historical Museum or the American Heart Association.
