Seymour police conducting fundraiser for Special Olympics

The Seymour Police Department is partnering with Special Olympics Indiana for a fundraiser from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at East Tipton Street and Burkart Boulevard.

For every donation made to Special Olympics Indiana, the donor can write their name or a special message on a donation card and decorate Officer Tim Toborg’s cruiser with it. Credit cards will be accepted.

This is a Law Enforcement Torch Run state-level event. Special Olympics partners with police departments all over Indiana to raise funds and awareness for the nonprofit organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in more than 20 Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities ages 8 and up.

Adults and children with disabilities represent nearly a fifth of Indiana’s population.
