Volunteers needed for Day of Caring

Jackson County United Way’s 25th annual Day of Caring will be May 11.

While requests for projects are no longer being accepted, the organization is currently looking for more volunteers.

Community Impact Director Stephanie Strothmann, who has taken over the program for this year, is hoping to get more community members involved.

"We have around 50 projects with only 75 volunteers at this time," she said. "We would love to be able to double that number and have at least 150 to 200 volunteers. Even though numbers are low, we are still hoping to make this a great event in celebration of its 25th year."

The projects that volunteers participate in can range from landscaping and gardening to painting and power washing. This year, per Jackson County Health Department guidelines, all projects must be completed outside.

The deadline to register to volunteer is April 30. Register online at jacsy.org/dayofcaringvolunteer.
