Mrs. Pearleita May (Scarlett) Rush, 97, of Commiskey, IN passed away on Wednesday December 30, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Rush was born in 1923 to the late Edgar and Flossy Mae (Bridgewater) Scarlett. On November 2, 1942, in Salem, IN she married Edward Dale Rush who preceded her in death October 27, 2014.

Pearleita was a member of The Tabernacle in Seymour and loved God, being a housewife, mother, and grandmother. She also loved quilting and gardening and could grow anything.

She is survived by her children; Larry Edward (Joann) Rush, Wilma (Donald) Baurle and Debi (Donald) Matney; grandchildren: Christina Rush, Kyle Rush, Joyce (Kevin) McCoy, Jamie (Jackie) Baurle, Scott (Andrea) Matney, Jennifer (Bobby) Hehe, Andrew Matney and Zachery Matney; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; brother Steve, sisters; Alice, Marlene, Marge, Naomi and Sue.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Blaine, Bud, Billy, Mike, and Irvine, sisters, Beverly and Betty.

The family will honor Pearleita with a worship service at The Tabernacle in Seymour on Saturday January 2, 2021 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Larry Arrowood officiating. Family and friends may attend a walk through viewing at the church on Saturday January 2, 2021 after 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at Cana Cemetery. All services have been entrusted to the caring staff at Voss and Sons Funeral Home.

In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are required before admittance to the funeral home or to the church as well as social distancing within the building. We kindly ask that there be no physical contact such as hugs or handshakes to protect staff and the family.
