State District 73 Rep. Steve Davisson, R-Salem, recently was appointed to serve as vice chairman of the Indiana House Public Health Committee.

He also will again serve as a member of the House Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development Committee, and he also was newly appointed to serve on the House Agriculture and Rural Development Committee.

Standing committees will meet throughout the legislative session set to kick off Jan. 4.

District 73 includes Washington County, the western part of Brownstown Township and Carr, Driftwood and Grassy Fork townships in Jackson County and portions of Lawrence, Orange, Clark and Harrison counties.
