Norma Jean Brown, age 85, of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020, at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers, and was confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Seymour. Norma was a homemaker.

Norma loved her family, loved spending time with them, and she also had a passion of taking care of them. In her younger days, she enjoyed riding motorcycles.

Born on May 3, 1935, in Vincennes, she was the daughter of William and Elsie Beard Wilcox, both of whom preceded her in death. On November 2, 1962, in Vincennes, she married Bobby Ray Brown and he preceded her in death on December 18, 2017.

Survivors include three sons: Gary (Debbie) Trowbridge of Seymour; Brian (Amy) Brown of Seymour, and Bob (Tracey) Brown of Seymour; four stepsons: Rick Brown of California; Greg (Ruth) Braxton-Brown of Florence, Kentucky, Chuck (Julia) Brown of California, and Rob (Molly) Brown of California; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brown was also preceded in death by one grandson, Holden Brown; one step-daughter-in-law, Cheri Brown; one brother, Jack Wilcox; and one sister, Mary Whitson.

A Memorial Service for Norma Jean Brown will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Craig Muhlbach officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc. will be practicing social distancing according to CDC guidelines. Masks are required when entering the funeral home. Attendance is limited to 25 people.

Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
