Ramona J. Sawyers, age 71, of Brownstown, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Ramona was a lifetime member of Clearspring Baptist Church. She had a big heart and loved caring for others. She enjoyed cooking for others, gardening, helping with youth and Sunday school, as well as babysitting.

Born on March 1, 1949, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Raymond “Bud” and Jeanette (Kilgas) Emily, both of whom preceded her in death. On November 16, 1968, in Seymour, she married David R. Sawyers and he survives.

Survivors include two sons: David Sawyers, Jr. of Ohio, and Brian (Jana) Sawyers of Clearspring; one daughter, Annette Sawyers of Brownstown; one brother, Raymond Emily Jr.; three sisters: Bev (Jim) Hanner, Linda (Terry) McDaniel, and Tressia (Mark) Roberts; three grandchildren: Trentity Vaught, Oakley Sawyers, and Joshua Sawyers; and brother-in-law, Tal Reynolds.

Ramona was also preceded in death by her two sisters: Trudy Reynolds and Karen Emily; and one grandson, Garrett Sawyers.

Funeral services for Ramona J. Sawyers will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Clearspring Baptist Church, with Pastor David Sawyers and Rev. Jerry Sawyers officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Clearspring Baptist Church. Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc. will be practicing social distancing according to CDC guidelines. Masks are required when entering the church. Attendance is limited to 25 people.

Interment will be at Clearspring Baptist Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Clearspring Baptist Church or Schneck Hospice.
