Christmas Basket Fund reaches $3,578

The annual Christmas Basket Fund grew to $3,578 on Thursday with recent donations of $533.

The newest donations are:

  • In memory of Louis H. and Doris Niemeyer, Louie and Helen Niemeyer, John Niemeyer and Kay Niemeyer, $50, from Tom Niemeyer
  • In memory of Mel, John, Dave and Scott, Bob and Dean, the Gun Fire Control Gang and USS Conway DDE507, $25, Tom Niemeyer
  • In memory of Pete Elsner, Sue Warinner and Ambrose Elsner, $50
  • In memory of Bob Runge, Lillie and Roy Runge, $50
  • In memory of Reva Pearson $108, from the Breakfast Club
  • In memory of our parents, Buck and Irene Foist and Irvin and Leona Rumph, $50, from Larry and Linda Rumph
  • In memory of Marc Chandler, $100, from the Chandler family
  • In memory of deceased family members, $50, from Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Farrow

Earlier donation

  • In memory of Robert, Reneua and D.R. Riordan, $100, from Steve and Kathy Riordan

Donations may be mailed to or dropped off at American Legion Post 89, The Tribune or any JCB branch. Donations allow for $50 JayC Food Stores gift cards to be distributed to less-fortunate people in the area whose applications are approved.

Requests for assistance will be accepted through Dec. 15. In order to receive one of the gift cards, people must live in Jackson County and submit a letter stating their need for assistance. Requests should be mailed to American Legion Basket Fund, P.O. Box 566, Seymour, IN 47274.
