After the first step

Hello, friends.

Taking the first step in weight loss is the hardest. While that is true, taking the next step, which is doing better every day as you move forward, has its own challenges associated with it.

Within these steps for weight loss, you may see food as an enemy even though it is actually your weapon, and the scale will scare you more than anything else in your life.

So after we take the dreaded first step, we take the ever-important second step. Mine was support.

How are you being supported? Do you have a partner on this journey, a group that you know personally, an online group that you don’t know or going it alone?

Whatever the case is for you, it needs to be a conscious decision. Going it alone is not something I have had luck with. I found I made the most progress with the other three.

My wife is the biggest support in my day to day. My group on Facebook will participate in posts that update progress and shortcomings as they are shared. They are the people I hold myself accountable to and am encouraged by.

I also receive tremendous advice from different groups of strangers with goals similar to mine. I use primarily Facebook, Pinterest or YouTube. Please use caution when taking health advice from people other than your doctors even if they have true intentions.

So please, find your support, find what you can do every day, to do more than you did yesterday so you will be better off tomorrow. Find me on Facebook at Rob’s Weight Loss Journey. Pax!
