SNELLVILLE, GEORGIA

Denny passed away Friday, November 6, 2020, at the age of 68. Although he had beaten cancer twice, and was considered our “Superman,” he succumbed to complications, from a bacterial infection, following major surgery. He was born to Norma Allman Fields and Arthur Eugene Fields, of Seymour, Indiana, February 16, 1952. Denny grew up there, and attended both elementary and high school in Seymour. After high school, Denny continued his education at Western Kentucky University, in Bowling Green. He enjoyed campus life and excelled in the classroom. Denny was a member of Phi Kappa Alpha and served as its treasurer his senior year. In 1974, he received his B.S. degree in Accounting, graduating with honors. Denny moved to Atlanta, where he began his career and met Myrna, the love of his life. In 1976, he started at Southern Bell where he held various positions. After 30 years, Denny retired from Accenture as an IT Consultant. In 1978, Myrna Grizzle, of Lithonia, GA, and Denny were married. They enjoyed 42 wonderful years together. He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Eugene Fields, and sister Nelda Sue Hill. Surviving are his wife, Myrna Grizzle Fields, of Snellville, GA; son, Kris Pugh and wife, Jessica, and children, Parker and Garrett, from Snellville, GA; daughter, Kori Oexmann, and husband, Steve, and children, Nathan and Thomas, from Sugar Hill, GA; mother, Norma Fields of Seymour, Indiana; brother, Terry E. Fields of Roswell, GA; sister, Cheryl Fitzpatrick and husband, Kerry, of Seymour IN; nieces, nephews and friends. Due to the pandemic, a memorial service is planned for the Spring.
