Mary “Jennifer” Hawksworth Elkins, 42, of Seymour, passed away at 9:14 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Schneck Medical Center.

Jennifer was born January 6, 1978, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of David and Mechelle Hagan Hawksworth. On June 27, 1998, she married Anthony “Tony” Elkins.

Mrs. Elkins enjoyed fishing, jigsaw puzzles, collecting anything that had to do with killer whales and cooking. Jennifer loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be remembered as a good person who would do whatever she could to help others and for giving the best hugs.

Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Anthony “Tony”; brother, Treg (Barbara) Hawksworth of Tennessee; niece, Paige Hawksworth; nephews, Adrien Hawksworth, Treg Hawksworth, David Hawksworth, also of Tennessee; aunts, Nancy Reeves of Milton, Delaware, Mary C. (Bob) Foster of Columbus, Linda Hawksworth of Glenshaw, Pennsylvania; great-aunt, Irene (George) Sebulsky of South Bend, IN., many cousins and her kitty, Willy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul Hawksworth; sisters, Barbara and Nancy Hawksworth; grandparents, Howard and Barbara Hagan, Robert and Lois Hawksworth.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Kelly Reed officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.

We do ask that visitors follow the social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required.

Burial will be Garland Brook Cemetery.
