Three local COVID-19 deaths since Friday

The Indiana State Department of Health announced Monday that a total of 1,481 Jackson County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, an increase of 20 from Sunday’s total.

Three new Jackson County deaths attributed to COVID-19 also have been reported by the state, raising the total number of deaths to 25, up from 22 deaths reported in Friday’s Tribune.

The results are as of 11:59 p.m. Sunday. The ISDH’s coronavirus dashboard is updated at noon daily.

Over the same three-day period, a total of 68 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Jackson County.

On Friday, there were 31 new cases reported, while 17 new cases were reported Saturday. Twenty new cases were reported Sunday. The county’s moving seven-day positivity rate was 7.59%.

There have been 121 positive COVID-19 cases from a population of 5,652 (2.14%) in the Brownstown ZIP code, while there was an additional 1,015 cases from a population of 28,770 (3.55%) in the Seymour ZIP code.

Other ZIP codes in Jackson County include Crothersville, 96 cases of 3,231 (2.97%); 29 out of 1,911 (1.52%); and Freetown, 29 out of 1,784 (1.63%). The other ZIP codes, Vallonia and Norman, have had less than five cases.

The ZIP code list is update at noon each Monday.

There have been 18,488 tests administered overall in Jackson County since March 18, an increase of 149 from Sunday.

On Sunday, 4,213 additional Hoosiers across the state were diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and private laboratories.

That brings to 214,509 the total number of Indiana residents known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s total.

Indiana’s total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 is 4,418.

For the state, a total of 3,239,034 test have been administered.
