BROWNSTOWN

Richard D. Stuckwisch, age 76, of Brownstown, entered eternal life with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 6, 2020, at Covered Bridge Health Campus, Seymour.

He attended St. Peter’s Elementary School and graduated from Brownstown High School in 1962. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Richard was employed at Jackson County Farm Bureau Co-op as Brownstown Branch Manager. He retired from Jackson County Farm Bureau after more than 30 years, and he then was a caregiver for his parents until their death in 2004.

Richard was an active lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Brownstown, where he was baptized and confirmed. He served on the Board of Lutheran Central School, served as treasurer of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, and he also served on several various boards and committees. He was also a member of the American Legion.

Born on April 11, 1944, he was the son of Frederick J. and Thelma (Vahl) Stuckwisch, both of whom preceded him in death.

Survivors include two brothers: Fred (Shirley) Stuckwisch of Brownstown, and John (Joyce) Stuckwisch of Brownstown; three nephews: R. Edward (Sara) Stuckwisch of Brownstown, Russell Stuckwisch of Brownstown, and Brian (Stephanie) Moenich of Flat Rock; great nieces and nephews: Amanda (Emmitt) Hanner, Matthew D. Stuckwisch, Abigail Stuckwisch, Joshua Moenich and Caitlin Moenich.

Funeral services for Richard D. Stuckwisch will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Brownstown, with Rev. Jeremy Yeadon officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Brownstown.

Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc. will be practicing social distancing according to CDC guidelines. Masks are required when entering the church.

Military honors will be presented by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Vets 7.

Interment will be at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Brownstown.

Memorials may be given to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Building Fund or Donor’s Choice.
