Lucille Aynes, age 89, of Brownstown, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Covered Bridge Health Campus, Seymour.

Lucille was a member of Brownstown United Methodist Church. She worked for Ho Canfield and retired from Cummins Engine Company. Mrs. Aynes was an avid reader, loved gardening and her cats.

Born on May 13, 1931 in Seymour, she was the daughter of Hamilton and Flora (Sharp) Whitson both of whom preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, Jan (Towana) Aynes of Seymour; one daughter: Mary Ann (Leonard) Stinson of Brownstown; seven grandchildren: Brian (Marcie) Aynes, Amanda Aynes, Amy (Jason) Lewellen, Melanie (Ryan) Preston, Monty Stinson, Kimberly Stinson, and Michelle Engleking; twenty – one great – grandchildren ; one great-great grandchild.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sons: Jerry Thomas, and John Michael; one daughter: Beth Ann; four sisters: Elnora Whitson, Alice Lee, Josephine Hickman, Charlotte Whitson; and three brothers: Ralph Sharp, Lawrence Whitson, and Donald Whitson.

Funeral services for Lucille Aynes will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020, at Spurgeon Funeral Home with Kay Pratt officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.

Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc. will be practicing social distancing according to CDC guidelines. Masks are required when entering the funeral home.

Memorials may be given through the funeral home to Brownstown Methodist Church.

Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.
