The Brownstown Central volleyball team is set to face Cardinal Ritter in Saturday’s Class 3A regional tournament at Danville Community High School.

The winner of that match at 10 a.m. will face either Tri-West Hendricks or Brebeuf Jesuit in the finals at 7 p.m.

Braves coach Jennifer Shade said going into the tournament, the team is healthy and back to 100%.

"We’ve had practice every single day," she said of this week. "We’ve taken it easy to make sure nobody gets hurt."

Setter Reagan Nuss twisted her ankle earlier this season but has had a successful recovery. Last week in the sectional finals against Edgewood, she was the leading server, making 21 of 21 serves with two aces.

For the rest of the week leading up to the tournament, Shade said the Braves will be discussing strategy against the teams they’ll potentially face, depending on how the bracket unfolds.

Brownstown’s record for the season is 21-11. The regional puts the Braves on the path to reclaim their title of Class 3A state champions from last season.
