Clarice K. Nehrt, 95, of Crothersville, IN passed away at 7:30 AM on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour, IN. Born on December 20, 1924, in Crothersville, IN, she was the daughter of Clarence and Bertha (Blau) Kovener. Clarice was a 1942 graduate of Crothersville High School and attended Seymour Business College. On June 21, 1947, she married John Nehrt, who passed away on July 31, 2019. Clarice worked at Brownstown Loan & Trust as a secretary and a teller at the Crothersville branch early in her life and would be able to leave the bank to play the piano for funeral services at her family’s funeral home. Clarice continued to play the piano for funeral services until recent years. She enjoyed reading her Bible, cooking and baking for her family, and playing the piano and organ and was a member of the former Immanuel United Church of Christ, where she was the church organist for over 60 years, a Sunday school teacher for all ages and served on the Women’s Guild. She is survived by 3 children, Michael L. (Debra) Nehrt of Rock Spring, GA, Cynthia K. Cozart of Crothersville, IN and Holly (Kevin) Foster of Seymour, IN, 5 grandchildren, Tracy Hicks of Lafayette, GA, Neal Nehrt of Rock Spring, GA, Julie (Ryan) Delph of Vallonia, IN, Devin (Carol) Cozart of Whiteland, IN and Drew Foster of Seymour, IN, 3 great-grandchildren, Paige Graviet of Lafayette, GA, Michael Cozart and Mitchell Cozart of Whiteland, IN and 1 sister in law Doris Kovener of Crothersville, IN. She was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Carl Kovener, 1 sister, Mary Metz, and a son-in-law Michael L. Cozart. Pastor David Schill will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 26, 2020, at Immanuel United Church of Christ with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery. Friends may visit on Sunday, October 25, 2020, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville and from 10:00 AM until time of service on Monday at the church.
