Free new shooter seminar set for Saturday in Seymour

Bite the Bullet in cooperation with the Seymour Police Department is conducting a free NRA New Shooter Seminar from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the police department, 205 N. Ewing St., Seymour.

This is a noncertificate, nonshooting course that covers safety, terminology, safe storage and an introduction to different types of firearms. It’s the same information that would be required prior to participating in a live fire firearms course.

The course has limited space for participants. RSVP by messaging the Civic Responsibility and Safety Facebook page or commenting on the post about the seminar.

Attendees should gather at Bite the Bullet, 101 E. Second St., Seymour, and a Seymour police officer will greet them and walk to the police station for the seminar.

Bring a bottle of water and a notebook. Since this is a nonshooting course, firearms and ammunition are not allowed in the training room.
