David Michael Quinn, 62, of North Vernon, was called to heaven to be reunited with his parents and brother after a long illness, at 11:18 a.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at the Reid Health Hospital in Richmond, Indiana.

There will be no service at this time, cremation was chosen. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Seymour. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.

Born on September 20, 1958, in Seymour, David was the son of Leo and Wilma (Tucker) Quinn.

David graduated from Seymour High School in 1977. He earned an associate’s degree in journalism from Ball State University. He owned and operated several small newspapers in southern Indiana before becoming the sports editor for the Berne Tri Weekly, in Berne, Indiana. David received many awards for both his reporting and his writing. He had many fond memories of growing up on a farm with six siblings. He continued to reminisce about these days whenever together with his family.

He is survived by sisters, Sue (David) Camp of Apache Junction, AZ, Linda (Bruce) Allen of Ames, IA, and Jane (Christopher) Bradley of Fishers, IN; brothers, Jerry Quinn of Richmond, IN, and Dale (Julie) Quinn of Myrtle Beach, SC; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Wilma Quinn; brother, Reverend Don Quinn.
