Seymour golfers making progress

Seymour golfers made their coach happy Monday.

The Owls put together some solid rounds in nine holes of play at Floyd Central, including Lainey Jackson’s 46.

"I can see a lot of improvement," said coach Jim Hoffman, whose girls team last week kicked off the fall sports season with the first event of any of the school’s teams. "Course management is getting much better. Putting still hurt us."

Phoebe Skidmore posted a 50, Liza Stuckwisch a 54 and Rylee Ebler a 65 to round out Owls’ scoring.

Floyd Central was the easy winner of the team title with a low score of 156. New Albany scored 186, and Seymour and Jennings County tied at 215.
