Jackson County had 11 teams competing in Saturday’s Indiana VEX Robotics State Championship.

In the high school division, Trinity Lutheran High School sophomores Conner Sims and Simeon Bauman made it to the top eight, while sophomore Preston Kovener and juniors James Thomack and Kash Siefker made it into the top 16.

Immanuel Lutheran School’s only middle school team to qualify for state, sixth-grader Lauren Bode and seventh-grader Kade Gillaspy, made it to the top 24 of its division, and fifth-graders Emory Helton and Rylan Adair were the only local elementary duo making it to the finals in their division, placing ninth.

Brownstown Central Middle School had two teams qualify for state. Eighth-graders Colton Whittymore, Conner Wynn and Luke Imlay finished in the top 24 of their division.
