Dr. Joseph Deaton, died Saturday, November 2, 2019 in Owensboro, Kentucky. He was born on December 6, 1940 in Crockettsville, Kentucky to Malvery and Walter Deaton.

He attended UCLA in Los Angelos, Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky, and Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. After serving in the Army, stationed in Korea, Joe returned to attend and graduate from Western Kentucky University. He then applied and was accepted to University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Deaton practiced medicine in Western Kentucky for many years prior to his retirement. In retirement he enjoyed writing, gardening, managing his farms, and thinking and discussing ways to improve humanity.

He was proceeded in death by a two brothers, John L. Deaton and Bennie Blaine Deaton. Joe was survived by his sister, Pamela K. Hubbard of Seymour, Indiana; three brothers, Glenn Deaton (Carol) of North Vernon, Indiana, Jack Deaton of Las Vagas, Nevada, and Michael E. Deaton (Beth) of Paris Crossing, Indiana; and close friends and care givers, Georgetta Holder and Stephanie Tong. Joe is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial was in Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
