Seymour City Council reorganized with five new members, a new mayor and a new clerk-treasurer during its first meeting of the year on Monday.

Drew Storey, Bret Cunningham, Matt Wheeler, Chad Hubbard and Seth Davidson joined Dave Earley and Jerry Hackney on the council with new Mayor Matt Nicholson and Clerk-treasurer Darrin Boas.

The board elected Earley to serve as president. He replaces former president Jim Rebber, who retired from the board at the end of 2019 after 25 years, eight of those as president.

Earley, who represents District 5, has the most seniority on the council with eight years under his belt.

The board also reappointed Mark Dennis and Nate Tormoehlen to serve on the redevelopment commission and selected Cunningham to sit on the plan commission, Wheeler to be on the trails committee and Hackney to serve on the solid waste board.
