Tickets now available for Crossroads Acoustic Fest

The third annual Crossroads Acoustic Fest will feature a couple of acts with local ties.

Stephen Wilson Jr. now lives and works in Nashville, Tennessee, but grew up in Seymour. A new video for his song “The Devil” is now available on YouTube, and he plans to release a new record this year.

Sean Jennings, another Seymour native, recently joined Flatland Harmony Experiment, a nontraditional bluegrass band based in Indianapolis.

“We already had our eye on this band, but when Jennings joined as lead guitarist, we knew we’d love to have them at our festival,” festival organizer Shawn Busby of the Crossroads Music Team said in announcing the 12 initial acts.

The team has worked hard to secure top-level talent and emerging stars in the national roots music scene.

Busby said the committee also has tried to focus on finding artists with connections here.

“We also wanted to secure musicians with local connections and have included some in our lineup,” he said.

The music festival is set for April 23, 24 and 25 and will feature national and international touring musicians from Tennessee, Alabama, West Virginia, Ohio and Indiana.

Other acts include Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley, Sam Lewis, Nora Jane Struthers, The Contenders, Whiskey Wolves of the West, John R. Miller, Sugarcane Jane, Ross Newell, Carolina Story and Buffalo Wabs and the Price Hill Hustle. More artists will be added to the lineup in the coming weeks.

Buffalo Wabs and the Price Hill Hustle will make its third straight appearance at the festival, while this will be Carolina Story and Nora Jane Struthers’ second year.

A VIP night was added to this year’s festival. April 23 will feature a bonus night of music, discounts and the first opportunity to purchase festival posters created on the 1850s press at the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts in Seymour. VIP tickets are $20 more than the festival ticket.

Tickets are available for purchase online at crossroadsacousticfest.com or the Jackson County Visitor Center, 100 N. Broadway St., Seymour. Weekend passes are available through Sunday for $30. A weekend pass provides attendees with two full nights of music and the ability to move from one listening room to another and see the artists they most want to see.

Beginning Monday, weekend passes will bump to $40, and single-day passes will be available for $25.

The festival will take place at three listening rooms in downtown Seymour: Jackson County Visitor Center, Rails Craft Brew and Eatery and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 655.

Performances are scheduled from 5 to 11 p.m. each day with music occurring simultaneously at each room. Performance times will be released a week before the festival.

Crossroads Acoustic Fest is a not-for-profit venture organized by the Crossroads Music Team and Southern Indiana Center for the Arts. A portion of each ticket benefits the arts center.
