Crothersville Town Council set for first meeting of new year

The Crothersville Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. today at the town hall, 111 E. Howard St., Crothersville.

The meeting will start with a public hearing about the annexation of real estate to the town. Those five parcels are south of town along U.S. 31.

New Clerk-Treasurer Staci Peters will then call the meeting to order, and the council will select a president and vice president for 2020. Then the new president will lead the meeting.

Other agenda items include appointing a town attorney and a Jackson County Industrial Development Corp. representative and making appointments to boards and commissions.

The council also will hear the second and final reading and consider approval of an ordinance regarding the annexation of real estate to the town and a bond ordinance.

Then the council will discuss office manager pay, hear information about a utilities spring conference, discuss Preston Street parking and receive updates from FPBH Inc., Administrative Resources association and the police, water, sewer and street departments.

A representative from Sims Bark also will be at the meeting to answer questions from the public.

The meeting is open to the public and press.
