Jimmy Wayne Turner, 69, of North Vernon, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019, in Jennings County.

Born September 11, 1950, in Bedford, he was the son of Raymond and Mary (Kern) Turner. He married Connie Stearns on November 21, 2012, in Seymour; she survives.

Jimmy worked as a carrier for the Columbus Republic for three years and had previously worked 10 years as the shipping supervisor at AISIN USA and 5 years shipping/receiving coordinator for R.R. Donnelly before retiring from there.

He was a member of Trinity Chapel in Seymour. Jimmy served in the Indiana National Guard serving in Germany from 1969 until 1972. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and family, loved driving his Columbus Republic route, fishing, and attending church.

Surviving with his wife, Connie, are sons, Scott Turner of Columbus, and Steven (Kassi) Pennycuff of North Vernon; daughters, Staci (Mark) Reynolds of Brownstown, and Deanna Pennycuff of Seymour; brother, Gary (Barbara) Turner of Bedford; sister, Karen (Charlie) Martin of Bedford; grandchildren, Chandler Turner of Columbus, Ashlyn Fox, Colton Fox, and Mark Reynolds Jr., all of Brownstown, Caleb Turner and Cayliegh Turner, both of Lexington, Jaelyn Reynolds of Medora, Alexandria Mills of Seymour, Abigail Pennycuff, Makenzie Snow and Branson Pennycuff, all of North Vernon; and great grandchild, Millison “Milli” Cunningham of Medora and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Doanne Turner.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at Trinity Chapel in Seymour with Rev. Ryan Bradley and Rev. Larry Dolton officiating. Family and friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca.
