Donate food at boys basketball game

Healthy Jackson County is asking basketball fans to donate to its community food drive during Friday’s county boys match up between Seymour and Brownstown.

The junior varsity game begins at 6 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m. at Lloyd E. Scott Gymnasium at Seymour High School.

Suggested food items to bring include:

Spaghetti and macaroni noodles, spaghetti sauce, tomato juice, canned diced tomatoes, chili beans, crackers, low sodium canned vegetables, canned fruit in own juices, peanut butter, jelly, toilet paper and other non-perishable food items.

All donations will be distributed to food pantries throughout the county.

Additional drop-off locations are available at Anchor House, 250 Vine St., Seymour, the Jackson County Courthouse lobby, Brownstown and Schneck Medical Center main lobby, Seymour.

Items will be accepted during business hours through Dec. 13.
