David Lowell Fiest, 77, of Paris Crossing, passed away at 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at his residence.

Born on July 10, 1942, in Junction City, Kansas, he was the son of Leo and Ethel (Morgan) Fiest. He married Anna Marie Wilson on April 6, 1998, in Louisville, Kentucky; she survives.

David was a 1960 graduate in Dwight, Kansas and served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1960 until 1964. He worked maintenance for Eli Lily in Indianapolis from 1966 until 1998. David was a member of First Marion Baptist Church, and a 25-year member of Silver Wheels Motorcycle Club.

He was a former Boy Scout Leader and Little League Coach. David enjoyed playing cards, woodworking, golfing, and going on cruise ships. He was known for his humor and jokes.

Surviving with his wife, Anna Marie, are his sons, James David (Shannon) Fiest of Clayton and Richard Morgan (Anitha) Fiest of Mint Hill, North Carolina; brothers, Dick (Zelda) Fiest of Topeka, Kansas and Darrel Fiest of Salina, Kansas; grandchildren, Tifny (Jamin) Hoppel of Fillmore, Benjamin Fiest of Coatesville, Uma Fiest of Mint Hill, North Carolina, Jonathon (Breanna) Elliott of Greencastle, and Shane Rigney of Greenwood; and great-grandchildren, Jayden Hoppel and Jamin Gatlin Hoppel, both of Fillmore, Madilyn Elliott, Jonathon Elliott, Carson Elliott, and Greycen Elliott, all of Greencastle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bill Fiest.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation is planned with no services to be held at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
