Book discussion groups to meet this month

Jackson County Public Library book discussion groups plan to gather this month to discuss book themes, writing styles, characters and more.

The groups are open to adults, and there is no attendance requirement. The books are available to check out at checkout desks.

The Tuesday Night Book Club will discuss its monthly book at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 at Freddy’s, 1940 E. Tipton St., Seymour. Information services manager Janet Hensen will lead the review of “The Sparrow" by Mary Doria Russell. Everyone attending should bring money if they plan to eat. Sign up for the program as you check out the book.

The book discussion group at the Crothersville Library, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month, will gather and share thoughts on “A Man Called Ove” by Fredrik Backman at 6 p.m. Sept. 18 at the library, 120 W. Main St., Crothersville.

Fantastic Fiction will discuss “The Wife Between Us” by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen at 11 a.m. Sept. 20 at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St. Led by circulation assistant Jordann Malone, this group meets on the third Friday of each month.

The Medora Library book discussion group will meet at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 23 to talk about “Small Great Things” by Jodi Picoult. The group meets on the fourth Monday of each month at the library, 27 W. Main St., Medora.
