Owls outlast Panthers in marathon matches

Seymour (8-4) pulled out three three-setters to post a 4-1 win over Jennings County Monday.

The Owls swept the singles spots against the visiting Panthers.

After Sandra Cernio’s 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles, Peyton Levine beat Reagan Brown 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 and Kirby Hill topped Hailey Brown 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-4 for the No. 3 position.

The Owls’ No. 2 doubles team of Avery Ragon and Madayln Baurle bested Abigail DeCamp and Courtney Lykins 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, and Jennings’ lone point came at No. 1 doubles, with Callie Wilder and Sydney Carson defeating Kristina Griffin and Malloyr Moore 7-5, 2-6, 7-5.

Seymour will travel to Bedford North Lawrence today.

Cougars post win over Lancers

EDINBURGH

Trinity Lutheran swept its doubles positions for a 4-1 win over Edinburgh Monday.

Lauren Fleetwood and Cassidy Burnside teamed up for a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles and Katelyn Mensendiek and Flossie Cooper won 6-1, 5-7, 10-4 at No. 2.

The Cougars’ Sarah Lemming won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Regan Cain took No. 3 6-2, 6-0.

Trinity’s Abby Schult came up short at No 1 singles, losing 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.

The Cougars (4-8) travel to Christian Academy of Indiana tonight.

BOYS GOLF

Owls host tri-meet

New Albany shot 162 strokes, Columbus East carded 177 and Seymour shot 185 in a tri-meet at Shadowood Golf Course Monday.

Nolan Keeler’s medalist score of 3-over-par 39 led all golfers.

Owen Marshall and Ethan Dippold both shot 42s, Tom Hoffmeier totaled 48, Conner Hinton shot 53, and Zach Sotrey had a 57 for SHS.

Cougars blow past Senators

Jacob Keith’s 3-over-par 39 led Trinity Lutheran to a 173-224 win over West Washington at Shadowood Golf Course Monday.

Mark Shoemaker was next for the Cougars with a 43, Josiah Foster shot 44, Ryland Nierman carded 47 and Kade Hill had 48 for Trinity.

Red Devils top Braves

BROWNSTOWN

Brownstown Central fell to Jeffersonville 197-214 Monday at Hickory Hills Golf Club.

Jeff’s Harrison Paul shot a 10-over-par 45 for medalist.

Lucas VonDielingen shot 48 for the Braves. Caden Clodfelder (54), Liam Kreis (56), Cooper Wolka (56) and Colton Hallow (58) rounded out the Braves’ card.
