VALLONIA

Richard Dale Keithley, 74, of Vallonia, died at 11:05 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.

He served in the Army during Vietnam. Richard was of the Christian faith. He was an auto mechanic and a retail salesman in auto parts. He was a member of the Spurs & Wheels Saddle Club and had a love for horses. He enjoyed dirt track racing, NASCAR, painting tractors and trucks, and gardening.

Richard was born on November 10, 1944 in Seymour, IN to the late William H. Keithley & Geneva Fish Keithley Quackenbush. He was a 1963 graduate of Clearspring High School.

On May 15, 1993, in Brownstown, he married Dorothy Jean Sutton and she survives in Vallonia. Other survivors include his 3 children, Sherri Cozart of Fishers, IN, Tim Keithley (Sherri Cardinal) of Brownstown, & Chad (Lori) Keithley of Seymour; 2 step children, Evelyn Hoffman of Nevada & Steve Hoffman of Seymour; grandchildren, Haley Kiser, Karlie Cozart, Clayton & Cailyn Keithley, Maci, Molly & Marcus Baurle, Steven Hoffman II, Alisha (Troy) Mitchell & Megan (Jarod) Wince; a sister, Shirley (Charles) Hutchinson of Brownstown; a step brother, Don Quackenbush of Bedford.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Jennifer Keithley.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17th at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with David Sawyers officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 16th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Memorial contributions may be given to Clearspring Baptist Church.
