Brownstown man faces felony child molesting charge

A 23-year-old Brownstown man has been arrested on a Level 1 felony charge of child molesting, police report.

Aaron Charles Stuckwisch Jr. was taken into custody without incident Wednesday afternoon. He was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 3:17 p.m. and was being held without bond pending his initial hearing in Jackson Circuit Court.

Brownstown Police Department Detective Jac Sanders initiated a criminal investigation Dec. 19, 2018, after receiving information that a 13-year-old girl had recently been molested, according to a news release from the department.

The investigation revealed Stuckwisch allegedly molested the juvenile in November 2018.

A Level 1 felony occurs when a person 21 or older knowingly or intentionally performs or submits to sexual intercourse or other sexual conduct with a person under the age of 14. It is punishable by 20 to 40 years in prison if convicted.

Sanders was assisted by Brownstown Police Chief Tom Hanner, Assistant Police Chief Joe Kelly and Officer Adam Behmlander.
