Cherish the time you spend with people

When you think of time, what do you think of?

I know normally, my first thought is the time on the clock. What time was it when we started and why aren’t we finished yet?

But something I have really learned on the race is that time is so much more than a clock.

Time is the time you get to spend with people you love and care about. Time is when you get to pour into people and love on them.

Something the Lord has shown me is that it doesn’t matter how long it takes you or if you hate it, but that we are all serving him.

I have gotten to spend time with my amazing team, four incredible people who have become a part of the team that I miss like crazy and our amazing hosts. So I am going to kind of do something a little different for this blog and write something about and/or to them just so you can get to know them a little better.

Hallie: I love seeing the way you interact with the kids and mercy. You really just take time and spend it with them. You jumped in the kitchen to learn how to make a traditional Zambian meal, and you make it so well. Thank you for all you do and encouraging me.

Sarah: You are so sweet and loving. I love seeing you with Bupe and the sweet kids. You encourage me in more ways than you know. I love being able to go to school with you every day and talk to you each day. Keep being amazing and loving on the team.

Mikayla: Thank you for encouraging me each and every day. You make me laugh and put a smile on my face. You are so sweet and loving and have such a heart for Jesus. I can totally see you moving to Africa someday and serving. Love you lots, girl. Keep serving for the Lord.

Tyler: You are so strong and amazing. I have not seen you with Emma, but I know you are impacting his life in a big way. Thank you for coming in the kitchen and helping with dinner. I enjoy having you in the kitchen. Keep being an incredible guy and serving for Jesus.

Drew: You are on fire for the Lord. You have so much knowledge and wisdom about Jesus and the Bible. I am glad I get to be sounded by you every day and learn from you. You ask amazing and challenging questions that I love to answer. Keep that fire and passion for the Lord.

Bree: You are so sweet and caring. You bring so much joy into my life. Thank you for praying for me the other night. You don’t know how much it meant to me. You are strong and have such a heart for the kids. Love you, girl, and I am so happy that I get to spend this time with you.

Ellen: Your smile and laugh light up a room when you walk into it. You are so kind and love on the kids so well. Thank you for being someone I can jam out to country music with. Keep that amazing kindness and loving spirit about you. You are an amazing person, and I can’t wait to get to know you more.

Bailey: Our relationship has only just begun. I can’t wait for you to get here in a week. I can already tell you have a goofy and loving personality. I am so glad the Lord has blessed me with someone like you.

Andrew (Dad): Where do I even begin? Thank you for being so encouraging and kind. Thank you for talking through my problems with me. Thank you for always being goofy and giving me something to laugh and smile about, even when I don’t feel like it. You are great, and I am so happy that the Lord brought you on this trip.

Hanna (Mom): You have already taught me so much in just the short few weeks we’ve been together. You know so much about the Lord, and I can see your passion to serve him. You are so positive and amazing. You know the exact words to say and when to say them. Thank you for doing one-on-ones with me and talking through stuff with me. Love you so much, and I can’t wait to see all of the ways the Lord uses you while we are here.

Rafaella: Wow, girl! You carry so much joy and positivity. I am so blessed to have been able to meet you and get to know you. I am for sure going to come to Brazil and hang out with you. Keep on being amazing. Love you lots, girl.

Hannah: Girl, you are so amazing. I am so happy that you came into my life. My team and I were so blessed that you were there to welcome us to our home. Continue being safe in your journey, and I want to know everything about it.

Julia: Girl, you are so sweet and love people so well. I am so happy we met and can’t wait to see what all you do in life. You are going to do some amazing things.

Jean Thomas: I’ve never heard such a great song sang about anyone before. You are great, and I am so happy to have met you. You are so great at soccer. Keep that amazing smile on your face.

Jimmy Dennis: Wow! Thank you for living with a bunch of crazy Americans. You are so great and have such a kind heart. You for sure have a servant’s heart. I enjoy talking to you and playing soccer with you. You are a great cook.

So yeah, that is my super-cool team. You should go check out their blogs. Just click on their pictures on my blog, and it will take you right to them.

Yeah, so my point of this blog is spend time with the people you love. Time here in Zambia is quickly running out, and I will for sure miss it here. Cherish the time you spend with people and in places.

Please continue keeping my team and me in your prayers. Love you all. Your prayers for rain are working.
