SEYMOUR

Mrs. Betty J. Zike, 87, of Seymour, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in 1931, in Seymour, the daughter of the late Russell C. and Ruby Mae (Thompson) Guinn.

Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday, December 19 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Acme Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday from 4-8 pm and Wednesday from 9:30 am until time of service.

On March 31, 1950, she married Charles L Zike in Freetown; he preceded her in death on November 20, 1993.

Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Seymour, The Golden Owls, and the F&S Saddle Club. She was a wonderful homemaker. She volunteered countless hours at Clothing Center, Acme United Methodist Church and Lutheran Braille. Betty was the Chairman of the Funeral Dinners at First Baptist Church. She was active with the Election Board.

She is survived by her children; Donna J. (Stephen) Arnold and Jerry L. (Karen) Zike; grandchildren, Kasey (Dan) Wright, Jami (Jamie) Kiel, Lauren (Jordan) Young, Brooke (Brad) Yost and Breanne (Kevin) Hoolehan; great-grandchildren, Cole & Kalynn Wright, Charlee and Rowan Kiel, Lennon Young, Gage Dean & Maxon Yost and Mila Hoolehan; brother, James R. (Betty) Guinn; sister, Janet S. (Glen) Heideman and sister-in-law, Rose Richey.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; and husband.
